The theme for this year is It’s Time to Unite. We want to bring women together. To talk about what it might take for us to unite when we’re so diverse and often, live such separate lives from one another. We want to find ways to come together and stand together.
We believe that process starts with storytelling. So on AWD and throughout the year we’ll be sharing women’s stories. We want to hear from and feature as many women as possible from all walks of life.
We’ll do that by:
Hosting an online festival. A women’s only collection of stories featured throughout the day, featuring Australian women and girls.
Here at australianwomensday.com you’ll be invited to join the festival, featuring a
diverse circle of Australian women. We’ll conduct conversations with a broad cross section of Australian society with a focus on celebrating the wisdom within Australia and the incredible achievements of our women.
We’ll also be launching ‘We the Women’ the Australian Women’s Day podcast where we’ll be talking about women’s experiences in Australia, about identity and diversity, and about reconciling with the past and creating a new future.
We’ll be sharing stories through social media channels, starting with Facebook and Instagram.
